The IAGL Digital Library
Our digital library is free for all.
We’re passionate about our mission: providing resources and information for those researching their German roots in southwest Lithuania. The publications on this page are offered to the public completely free of charge. Many of the publications in our library have been generously donated by supporters.
Digitizing, storing, and acquiring new materials comes at a cost. Please, consider donating to the IAGL to help support our efforts and keep our library growing.

FAQs
Does the IAGL have a physical library I can visit?
At this time, the IAGL is not big enough to need a physical library space. However, we hope that one day we will be big enough to need one!
How can I view the original materials?
We currently don’t have a way to give individuals access to the original documents in our possession. Additionally, the IAGL may not physically own all of the material that is in our digital library. In some cases, we have digital scans of materials that other individuals hold in private possession.
How can I get a better-quality scan of an image I found in your digital library?
We’re happy to provide high-resolution scans of images contained within our materials if the original material is in our possession. Please contact us using the link at the top of this website. Be sure to include the title of the publication and the page number of the image.
I have materials I would like to donate to the IAGL. How do I do that?
Please use the contact link at the top of this website to send us a note. We would be delighted (and very grateful) for any material donations that can expand our library.
Is all of the IAGL’s library digitized and on the website?
No. The IAGL has numerous books and publications relevant to the Germans from Lithuania but we can only post digital copies if we have permission from the publisher or copyright holder.
How can I support the IAGL’s library?
The best way to support our library is by financial donations and/or donations of relevant materials that we can include in our library.
